Backyard-raised, never-washed eggs and fresh-baked sourdough, sold from our home in Dripping Springs. A working ranch built around real food — no middlemen, no shortcuts.
"Raised honest. Baked from scratch. Sold from home."
Honey Bunches of Oaks is a working ranch on five acres in Dripping Springs, shaded by old live oaks and slowly coming to life. We lease the land, and Black Angus cattle graze it alongside us — which is part of what keeps the property a working piece of land rather than a subdivision. Our hens live outside, supplemented with legume sprouts, marigold, and black soldier fly larvae. Two hives of Buckfast bees. An orchard of forty-plus trees — pecans, peaches, pears, plums, persimmons, and nectarines — still coming in.
The goal has always been a place where things feed into each other. The chickens work the orchard floor. The bees pollinate the trees. The cattle keep the pasture in shape. The bread gets made with starter that's been going for years. We sell what we make directly from home — no cold storage chains, no grocery markups, no middlemen.
Two things done right: backyard-raised, never-washed eggs from hens fed with real intention, and long-fermented sourdough baked fresh to order. Available for home pickup in Dripping Springs.
Our hens live outside on our 5-acre property — real space to scratch, explore, and behave like chickens. Not a barn, not a cage, not a technicality. Their base feed is supplemented with legume sprouts, dried marigold, and black soldier fly larvae.
Commercial eggs are pressure-washed, which strips the egg's natural protective bloom from the shell. Ours aren't. That intact cuticle keeps bacteria out, extends shelf life, and means you can store them at room temperature. It's how eggs worked before industrial processing.
Eggs are collected daily and ready for pickup within 24–48 hours. No cold chain, no warehouse storage, no weeks-old "farm fresh" labeling. You're getting an egg that was laid this week.
A long, slow ferment with a live starter — the way bread used to be made. Crisp crust, open crumb, real flavor. Baked fresh and ready for pickup alongside your eggs.
Slow overnight rise for depth of flavor and natural leavening.
